Our Values

The Four Rocks

At Flat Rock, we have four main values.

We call them rocks; foundational values upon which we build who we are and what we do.
Sunday Mornings
At Flat Rock, we value a Sunday morning experience where people can walk into a welcoming, friendly environment and experience corporate worship and hear a message from the Word of God. We desire that each person feels at home, like part of the family.
“To the weak I become weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to the people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in these blessings.”  - 1 Corinthians  9: 22-23
Connect Groups
At Flat Rock, we value Connect Groups.  We believe connect groups are where you build meaningful relationships with others, study the Bible on a deeper level, and give and receive ministry and care for each other.
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.”  - Acts 42:44
Family
At Flat Rock, we value family.  We desire to be a family and also teach families how to worship and serve together, as well as empower parents to disciple their children.
“And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving, you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.”  - Deuteronomy 6:6-7
Community
At Flat Rock, we value community.  We desire to connect our community with Christ. We want to reach our surrounding area with the gospel and minister to their needs.  Our goal is to see Liberty and Pickens County thrive.
“And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”  - Jeremiah 29:7
